James Janis Poston

Mr. James Janis Poston, 77, husband of Harriet Ann "Happy" Poston, died Thursday, December 28, 2017, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, after an illness.

Mr. Poston was born March 10, 1940, in Florence County, a son of the late James Dewey Poston and Hattie Pauline Collins Poston.  He retired as a Maintenance Supervisor for J.P. Stevens and later Delta Mills.  Mr. Poston was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and a Mason, member of Hannah Lodge #298.

Surviving besides his wife of 60 years, Harriet Ann "Happy" Poston of Pamplico, are his children Jamie (Darlene Sabo) Poston, Shelley (Kenneth) Butler and Joey (Deborah Eaddy) Poston, all of Pamplico, and Jeff Poston and his fiance', Laurie Jones' of Hartsville; grandchildren, Jody (Amanda Dunbar) Poston, Lindsey Scott, Lance (Allison Gause) Butler, Matthew (Caryn Farrell) Butler, Lance (Seth Hall) Poston, Ashley Poston, Casey Poston and Taylor Poston; great-grandchildren, Wade Poston, Camryn Poston, Evie Butler, Bentley Butler, Jackson Butler, Tinslee Lewis-Poston, Katelyn Scott and Jace Scott; brother, Jarvis Douglas (Fannie Joe) Poston of Pamplico; and sister, Evone P. Morris of Lake City.

Mr. Poston was predeceased by sister, Paula P. Eaddy and her husband Geoffrey Eaddy; and brother-in-law, Ivan Morris.

Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.  Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow at Prosser Cemetery, Pamplico.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the church prior to funeral service, and other times at the home of his son, Jamie Poston, 832 Woods Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.
