Georgie Calcutt

Georgie Vause Calcutt, 104, wife of the late Bennie Willard Calcutt, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at her residence.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Pamplico. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, April 6, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.

Mrs. Calcutt was born August 1, 1913 in Ayden, NC, daughter of the late George Cole Vause and Winnie Minerva Cox Vause.  Georgie was a graduate of Columbia College and taught elementary school for 26 years in Pamplico, SC and Miami, FL. She loved working in her flower garden and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons, Bennie Willard (Retta) Calcutt, Jr. of Jupiter, FL, Robert Wayne "Bob" (Gail) Calcutt of Lake Mary, FL and Steven Vause (Beverly) Calcutt of Pembroke Pines, FL; grandchildren, Kris ( Norbert) Ehrich, Karen (Scott) Farnum, Kim (Ed) Laymon, Stephen Calcutt, Rob (Steph) Calcutt and Jamie (Daniel) Parke; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Winnie Lou Tucker of Timmonsville, SC.

Mrs. Calcutt was preceded in death by her siblings, Julius Vause, Roxie Belle Gibbons, Ruth Granger, James Vause, Ruby Lee Severance.
