Fred Lee Thomas

Scranton:  Fred Lee Thomas, Jr., 91, husband of the late Frances Weatherford Thomas, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence.

Mr. Thomas was born on October 6, 1926 in Kershaw County, son of the late Fred Lee Thomas, Sr. and Lottie Clyburn Thomas.  He was a member of Scranton Baptist Church and served in the South Carolina National Guard.  Mr. Thomas retired from Herring Electric Co. as an electrician, after 27 ½ years, worked for Doyle Electric for 12 years, and then retired from Gregory Electric.

Surviving are his children, Frankie T. (Donald) Langston of Hartsville, Carolyn T. (Garry) Feagin of Scranton and Linda T. (David) Ethridge of Andrews; grandchildren, Heather Matthews, Cynthia Leach, Tabetha Cerceo, Robin Smith, Mickie Davis, Kellie McCutcheon, Lee Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Nikki Thomas, Charles Rogers, Shawn Langston, Perry Langston, Leslie Barnes and David Ethridge, Jr.; 25 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Carrie Frances Weatherford Thomas; son, Lewis "L.C." Thomas; great granddaughter, Taylor Morgan McCutcheon; brother, Albertus "Bert" Thomas; sister, JoAnn T. McDaniel Belinski and son-in-law, Johnny D. Williams.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Scranton Baptist Church.  Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow at Scranton United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Scranton Baptist Church.
