Florence Chandler Rodgers, 89, wife of the late Melvin Furman Rodgers, died Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Lake City Community Hospital.
Mrs. Rodgers was born on June 4, 1930 in Clarendon County, daughter of the late Roland Chandler and Lorena Mercer Chandler. She was a graduate of Hebron High School, Columbia Business College and attended Columbia College. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving are her son, Melvin "Zander" (Susan) Rodgers of Florence; daughter, Mary Chandler Duke of Turbeville; son-in-law, Richard O. Wilson of Cades; grandchildren, Emily (Rusty) Bair, Pam (Rhett) Long, Jamie (Tad) Huggins, Alex (Amber) Rodgers and Megan Stuckey; fourteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Florence Wilson; her siblings, Ryan Chandler, Iva Pritcher, Mildred Hall, Ralph Chandler, Norma Baker, Dorothy Knight and Keith Chandler.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, November 29, 2019, at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 PM, Friday, November 29, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
