Mrs. Carrie Estelle Matthews Hartfield, 82, wife of the late Wylie Eugene Hartfield, Sr., died Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
Mrs. Hartfield was born on February 23, 1936, in Florence County, daughter of the late Rhett Matthews and Maggie Cook Matthews. She was a member of Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her children, David (Sherry) Hartfield and Wendell Dan Hartfield and Lydia Eve Hartfield (Phillip) Simcic; grandchildren, Stephen (Mandy) Hartfield, Paige (Kevin) Nolan, Matthew Hartfield, Wendy (Mark) Howell, Kim Hartfield, Danielle (Tim) Martin, Windell (Samantha) Hartfield, Gene (Michele) McDaniel, LeDain McDaniel, LeighAnne (Joseph) Kuhn and Justin Simcic; great grandchildren, Joshua Hartfield, Caleb Hartfield, Emily Hartfield, Ellie Nolan, Lauren Howell, Sean Howell, Trevor Hartfield, Abigail Martin, Anna Martin, Keaton Hartfield, Hailey McDaniel, Kailey McDaniel, Devin Kuhn, Skeylar Kuhn and Alexis Simcic; one great-great grandson, Brantley James Hartfield and daughter-in-law, Gloria Hartfield.
Mrs. Hartfield was preceded in death by her son, Wylie Eugene Hartfield, Jr.; sister, Lena Bell Griffin; and her daughter, Lydia Eve Hartfield Simcic, also died December 6, 2018, one day after her mother.
A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lake City. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow at Old Landing Cemetery, Pamplico.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lake City.
