Cecil Parker

LAKE CITY: Mr. Cecil Parker, 72, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, after a short illness.

Mr. Parker was born January 29, 1941, in Clarendon County, a son of the late Woodrow Parker and Lutsie P. Parker. He retired from Santee Print in Sumter, SC, and attended McKenzie Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include his son, Linwood "Coot" Parker of Lake City; granddaughter, Brittney (Daniel) Welch of Lake City; great-grandchild, Trenton Welch of Lake City; two brothers, Sammy Parker and David (Isaree) Parker, both of Lake City; and three sisters, Dianne Parker, Perline Tisdale and Mellie Nettles, all of Lake City.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, Thedis Bennett Parker; and two sisters, Jennie Parker and Gertrude Bryant.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 -- 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Carolina Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, September 13, 2013, at McKenzie Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1194 McIntosh Road, New Zion, SC 29111. Burial will follow at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Lake City.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the SICU at Carolinas Hospital System for all their care and support for Mr. Parker and his family during this time.
