Mrs. Carolyn Ard Turner, 85, wife of the late Kearney R. Turner, Jr., died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, after an illness.
Mrs. Turner was born in Johnsonville on May 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Laney Ard and Edith Rhames Ard. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, and member of the Adult 4 Sunday School Class, Young at Heart, and Current Mission Group of the church. She was first employed with Kingstree Manufacturing Company and later Belk Department Store, Lake City retiring in 1994.
Surviving are daughters, Carol T. (Mike) Atkinson of Hartsville, Marilyn T. (Holley) Heyward of Prosperity, and Darlene T. (Ray) Matthews of Scranton; grandsons, David Matthews of Myrtle Beach and Jonathan Matthews of Lake City; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by a son, Kearney Michael Turner; and sisters, Johnnie Powell and Erma Hanna.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the funeral home prior to services.
