Bobby Taylor Obituary

Bobby Joe Taylor, 85, husband of Helen McClam Taylor, died Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Kingstree Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Taylor was born on February 13, 1933 in Greer, son of Connelly Taylor and Ester Taylor.  He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Taylor attended Pergamos Methodist Church and Hebron United Methodist Church. He was funny (with his own corny jokes), out-going, and always willing to help a neighbor, friend or the community.  Mr. Taylor was a quiet, easy-going man who always had a good word and cup of coffee for anyone he met.  He ran Collins Department Stores and owned the Gentlemen's Quarters in Lake City.  Mr. Taylor was active in the Jaycee's, played Slow-pitch Softball, enjoyed golfing, woodworking and helping others with their projects.

Surviving are his wife, Helen McClam Taylor; five children, Joey (Patricia) Taylor of Myrtle Beach, Anne Kelley of Columbia, James "Jimmy" Taylor of Marion, Angela (Albert) Hough of Lugoff and Andrea (Craig) McKenzie of Florence; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Frances Kirby Taylor; and two grandchildren, Kirby Taylor and Bradley Taylor.
