Barron Odell Cooper Strickland

Barron Odell Cooper Strickland, 77, husband of the late Dixie Lee Strickland, died Monday, November 11, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Strickland was born on December 7, 1941 in Turbeville, SC, son of the late Alexander Strickland and Margaret Lee Strickland.  He attended Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church in Sumter and was a retired logger.

Surviving are his children, Brian (Tanya) Wheeler of Marion, Michael (Brandi) Strickland of Milledgeville, GA, Jeffrey (Dana) Strickland of Florence, Michelle (Michael) Stone and Travis (Sam) Strickland, both of Pamplico; grandchildren, Brandy Strickland, Kayla (Chris) Strickland, Jeffrey Strickland, Jr., Jason Strickland, Angel (Will) Tyler, Kelsey Strickland, Dalton Strickland, Gracy Strickland, Hanna Wheeler, Brittany Smith and Courtney Smith; great grandchildren, Maci Shirer, Connor Shirer, Damon Shirer, Noah Shirer, Iris Evans and Brinley Smith.

Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by a son, Barron Odell Cooper Strickland, Jr. and his brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.  Burial will follow at Matthews Cemetery, Coward.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the funeral home.
