Mildred (Daniel) DeWitt

Mrs. Mildred McClam Daniel DeWitt, 95,  died Thursday, June 29th, 2017 at her daughter's home in Charleston. Known affectionately as "Mama Dee", she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Willys James DeWitt.

Mrs. DeWitt was born in Lake City on October 28th, 1921, a daughter of the late Mary McClam and John Leighton Daniel.  She was a graduate of Scranton High School and attended Columbia College.  She was a lifelong member of and Sunday school teacher at Lake City Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Diane D. (Lowrie) Beacham of Efland, NC, Delane D. McCabe of Charleston, and Denise D. (J. Wes) Floyd of Charleston; a brother, Davis R. Daniel of Scranton; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held a Lake City Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 8th.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
