Eleanor (Hanna) Powell

Eleanor Hanna Powell, 90, widow of Furman Ervin "Dick" Powell, died Friday, August 11, 2017, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence.

Mrs. Powell was born on September 14, 1926 in Florence County, daughter of the late Jaro Hanna and Annie Altman Hanna.  She was a member of Unity Original Free Will Baptist Church, Johnsonville.

Surviving are her sons, Van (Patricia) Powell, Howard (Bobbie) Powell and Wayne "BooBoo" (Sissy) Powell, all of Johnsonville, SC; daughter, Trudy (Richard Waltonbaugh) Humphries of Florence, SC; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Betty Hyman of Pamplico; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hanna of Winston-Salem, NC and Myrna Hanna of Chapin, SC.  

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred Hanna, James Hanna and Robert Hanna; sister, Elizabeth Hale; brothers-in-law, Roy Hale and Norman Hyman; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Hanna.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, August 14, 2017, at Unity Original Free Will Baptist Church, Johnsonville.  Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow at Power-Durant Cemetery, Johnsonville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton and 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Monday, August 14, 2017 at Unity Original Free Will Baptist Church, Johnsonville.
