Betty Jean Huggins Driggers, 80, widow of Hagood Jasmine Driggers, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
Mrs. Driggers was born on May 7, 1937, in Lake City, daughter of the late Herbert Allison and Rosa Haselden Huggins. She was an Avon Cosmetics Representative and delivered for Fed-Air while living in Florida. Mrs. Driggers attended Terrell's Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are her children, Hagood Eugene "Gene" Driggers of Cades, Billy Driggers of Lake City, Joe (Pam) Driggers of Johnsonville, Cheryl (Arthur) Davis of Scranton and Wayne (Susie) Driggers of Felton, Delaware; grandchildren, Rebecca (Chris) Kelley of Lexington, Shane Davis of Scranton, and April Driggers of Delaware; great grandchildren, Jackson, Bertrum and Tallulah; sisters, Mary H. Floyd and Mable H. Hyman, both of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Driggers was preceded in death by siblings, W. W. (Basel) Huggins, Herbert (Marguerite) Huggins, Jr. and Nell (Johnny) Owens; sister-in-law, Ethelda (H.B.) Defee; brothers-in-law, Clyde Hyman, Jr. and Rheuben Floyd.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Thomas Cemetery, Olanta.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Carolina Funeral Home and other times at the home of Gene Driggers, 1452 Twin Lakes Road, Cades, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
The family would like to thank all of the kindness shown to them and Jean in the CVICU at McLeod and all the doctors who attended her.
