LAKE CITY: Mrs. Wilma Sauls Lamb,84, widow of Foster E. Lamb, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, after an illness.

Mrs. Lamb was born July 5, 1925, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Elijah G. Sauls and Sally Osborne Sauls. Her mother passed away when she was only three months old, and she was reared by her paternal grandmother, Betty Sauls. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and attended Francis Marion University and completed her education through courses from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Lamb retired from Florence County School District No. 3 as a math instructor, and was formerly employed with the A & P Tea Company of Lake City for fourteen years as head cashier. For several years she was a live-in sitter assisting the sick and elderly patients. After suffering several strokes, she retired and made her home in Florence with her son, Blakely Lamb. She was a member of Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as a former Deaconess and for thirty-three years as teacher of the Ladies Bible Class.

Surviving are, a son, Blakely Lamb and his wife, Pam, of Florence; two daughters, Judy Porter and her husband, Cindy, of Coward, and Donna Wise of Lake City; four grandsons, Jason Lamb and his wife, Tracy, Jonathan Lamb and his wife, Earleen, John Whitaker and his wife, Melissa, and John Lamb; a granddaughter, Heather Wise of Ft. Huachuca, Arizona; eleven great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Rosa Nell Weaver of Lancaster; two half-brothers, Cody B. Sauls and W. C. Sauls, both of Lake City; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby Nettles of Moncks Corner and Dot Matthews of Coward; and by two half-brothers, Clifford Sauls and Sonny Sauls.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Tim Nail and the Reverend Jimmy McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M., Friday, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC.
