SCRANTON
: Mr. William Davis McAllister, 60, formerly of Pawleys Island, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, in the VA Medical Center, Columbia, SC, after an illness.
Mr. McAllister was born March 10, 1949, in Florence, SC, a son of the late Willie Joe “Billy” McAllister and Finette Hoover McAllister.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia G. McAllister of Pawleys Island; three daughters, Marcy M. Benton, and her husband, Chris, of Kingstree, Sandra M. McAllister of Lexington and Jessica F. McAllister of Manning; three grandchildren, Jack Benton, Christopher C. Forehand and Keaden G. McAllister; one sister, JoEtta M. Floyd, and her husband, Tarrell, of Lake City; one sister-in-law, Mary S. McAllister of Pawleys Island; one niece, Tara F. Matthews of Pamplico, and one nephew, Trevor A. Floyd of Lake City. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenny McAllister.
