SCRANTON: Mr. Victor Joseph Eckenroth, Sr., 89, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, after an illness.
Mr. Eckenroth was born November 15, 1920, in St. Louis, MO. He retired as Contracts Administrator for Yardney Electric Corporation in 1982 and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Smithey of Scranton; children, Victor Joseph Eckenroth, Jr., and his wife, Deborah or Westerly, RI, Dean K. Eckenroth, Sr., and his wife, Nancy of Coronado, CA, Penny Randazzo and her husband, Al of West Kingston, RI, and Stephen A. Eckenroth of Charlestown, RI; step-children, John C. Smithey of Timmonsville, Neal Steven Smithey of Columbia and Sara Byrd Alford and her husband, Rick of Barnsville, GA; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
