HEMINGWAY: Mr. Vaska “Bo” Turner, 89, husband of Willow V. Hanna Turner, died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, after an illness.
Mr. Turner was born on January 7, 1922, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Alston H. Turner and Dovie Gaskins Turner. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and retired from Talon Manufacturing Company at the age of 79. Mr. Turner was a member of Family Worship Assembly.

His wife of 63 years, Willow V. Hanna Turner of Hemingway; two sons, John A. (Karen) Turner of Florence and Calvin Turner of Hemingway; three grandchildren, Michelle (Bobby Boatwright) Turner of Pamplico, Richard (Crystal) Turner of Timmonsville and James (Crissy) Turner of Hemingway; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Turner was predeceased by a son, Vaska DeLeon Turner, granddaughter, Donna Gail Turner, four sisters, Blondell Turner Leach, Hilda Turner Jones, Dovie Turner Worrell and Anne Turner Smiley; and three brothers, Drue D. Turner, Drexell Turner and Alston Harry Turner.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hanna Family Cemetery, Johnsonville, SC, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
