COWARD: Mrs. Uldine Matthews Perdue, 75, widow of William “Bill” Perdue, died Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Lake City Community Hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Perdue was born October 29, 1933, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Omer Matthews and Annamae Prosser Matthews. She was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and a homemaker. Mrs. Perdue was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Turbeville, SC.
Survivors include, a son, Ray Perdue, and his wife, Laurie of Turbeville; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Perdue of Coward; two granddaughters, Amber Perdue of Turbeville and Seana Perdue of Coward. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Rev. Jimmy Perdue, and two brothers, Carl Matthews and Edward Matthews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 26, 2009, in the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church, Turbeville, SC. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery in Coward, SC, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening, October 25, 2009, at New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church, Corner of Horse Branch Road and 4060 American Avenue, Turbeville, SC.
