HEMINGWAY:: Mrs. Patricia Taylor “Patsy” Dennis, 70, wife of Don Dennis, died Monday, January 11, 2010, at Waccamaw Community Hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Dennis was born on December 30, 1939, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Dalton E. and Lucille Altman Taylor. She was a graduate of Johnsonville High School and was a former medical staff secretary at Marion Memorial Hospital, a medical secretary for Berry, Askins & Suggs, and she retired from Florence County School District No. 5 as secretary to the Assistant Superintendent. She was a member of Westside Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are, her husband, Don Dennis of Hemingway; children, Donald (Tarey) Dennis of Hemingway, Lynne (David) Lord of Goose Creek, Bobby (Susan) Dennis of Lake City, Lisa (Jimmy) Estes and Melanie (Scott) Poston of Johnsonville; sisters, Jeanette Bennett of Johnsonville, Mary (Bill) Herrick of Summerville and Angie (Mike) Poole of Lake City; brothers, Johnny Taylor of North Myrtle Beach, James Furman (Nilgul) Taylor of Ashville, NC, and Ervin Taylor of Johnsonville; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Westside Free Will Baptist Church, Johnsonville. Burial will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery, Johnsonville, South Carolina directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Westside Free Will Baptist Church, and at other times at the home of Melanie and Scott Poston, 446 Lynwood Drive, Johnsonville, South Carolina.
