SCRANTON: Mrs. Mae Etta M. Miles, 81, widow of Charles E. Miles, died Thursday, February 02, 2012, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Friday, February 3rd at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Lake City Memorial Park.
Mrs. Miles was born May 6, 1930, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Lewis Wright Miles and Mamie Yarborough Miles. She was a member of Lee’s Tabernacle Church, the Women’s Ministries, the Adult Sunday School Class, and former church organist. She attended Florence County Public Schools where she excelled in science which later led to her many years of service at The Carolinian in Florence where she was an excellent caregiver.
Surviving are her children, Helen M. Pollard of Scranton and Mitchell (Linda) Miles of Florence; grandchildren, Jonathan (Cacey) Miles of Easley, Susan P. (Daniel) Plemons of Hartsville and David W. Pollard of Scranton; great-grandchildren, Sam and Eliza Plemons, both of Scranton; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearly M. McGee and Leona M. Lee; and five brothers, William Miles, Willie J. “Junior” Miles, Hinnant Miles, Rev. Cleo Miles and Rev. Lewis Miles; and son-in-law, Wilber D. Pollard.
