SCRANTON: Mrs. Loretta Faye Chattman Welch, 52, died Monday, August 24, 2009, at her residence after an illness.
Mrs. Welch was born June 13, 1957, in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Jody and Ida Beasley Chattman. She was a homemaker, collector, and loved old classic movies. Mrs. Welch was one of the few who never received her driver’s license, choosing rather to ride her bicycle wherever she went. She was first married to the late Shug Miles.
Survivors include her husband, Timmy Welch of Scranton; two sons, Fred (Terry) Ray of Lake City and Eugene Ray of Columbia; one daughter, Crystal Miles of Scranton; three sisters, Edna (A.Q.) Lee, Linda (Clint) Gaskins and Patricia McCorkel, all of Lake City; and four grandchildren.
Graveside funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Lake City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC.
