LAKE CITY: Mr. H. Kester Lee, 69, died Monday, April 12, 2010, in Milledgeville, Georgia, after an illness.
Mr. Lee was born June 29, 1940, in Florence County, a son of the late Eddie Lee and Mattie Matthews Lee. He was formerly employed with the Charleston Naval Ship Yard as a Rigger and attended Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy. He received many certificates in Bible study and he loved his “Lord”.
Surviving are: son, Ronnie Lee and his wife, Sherry of Summerville; daughter, Debra Lee of Jedburg, SC; brothers, A. Q. Lee and his wife, Edna of Lake City, Eldon Lee and his wife, Adelle of Hannahan, Ornce “Dude” Lee and his wife, Linda of Lake City, and Roy R. Lee, Sr., and his wife, Betty Jo of Jedburg, SC; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lee and Edith Lee, both of Charleston, and Darlene Lee of Lake City; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Lee was predeceased by a son, Robert Lee; sisters, Buena Antwine and Mildred Loach; and brothers, Earl Lee, Leverne Lee, Ashton Lee, Rushton Lee and Keith “T.G.” Lee.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC. Burial will follow in Strickland-Feagin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of his brother, A. Q. Lee, 1123 Jordan Road, Lake City, SC.
