COLUMBIA: Mrs. Elmer Evelyn Stone Minnich, 91, formerly of Pamplico, SC, died Monday, May 28, 2012 in Lake City/Scranton Health Care Center after an illness.
Mrs. Minnich was born April 21, 1921, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Cicero and Gussie Smith Hughes. She was a member of Pamplico Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are three sons, Grant (Donna) Stone and Gary (Kaye) Stone both of Pamplico and Stevie (Sandy) Stone of Lugoff; one daughter, Deany S. Bazen of Pamplico; seven grandchildren, Shawn (Ginny) Bazen, Bradley (Marcia) Bazen, Warren Stone, Jason (Tonya) Stone, Taylor (Julie) Stone all of Pamplico, Graham Stone of Lugoff and Jessica (Rick) Baskin of Cassett; twelve great grandchildren; special family friend, Kevin (Crystal) Bazen of Pamplico; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hughes of Conway, Irene Hughes and Vera Powell both of Florence and brothers-in-law, J.E. Haynes of Florence and G.D. Poston of Dillon.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Graham Stone; her second husband, Lester Minnich; five brothers, Raymond Hughes, Robert Hughes, Leander Hughes, Lawrence Hughes and Marshall Hughes; and five sisters, Missouri Haynes, Helen Poston, Mae Dozier, Gertrude Ard and Florence Cain.
Memorial services will be at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, 215 E. Hwy. 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC.
