SCRANTON: Mr. C.A. “Sonny” Willoughby, Jr., 71, husband of Lenora Cook Willoughby, died Sunday, January 17, 2010, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mr. Willoughby was born February 26, 1938, in Florence County, a son of the late Charles Aimar Willoughby, Sr. and Mildred McWhite Willoughby. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and a retired farmer. Mr. Willoughby was a member of Scranton Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon.
Survivors include: His wife, Lenora C. Willoughby of Scranton; two sons, Charles A. Willoughby, III, and Jason Willoughby, both of Scranton; one sister, Mildred (Kelly) Ham of Scranton; and two brothers, Nelson Willoughby of Eden, North Carolina and Jack Willoughby of Florence. He was predeceased by his step-mother, Monty Dell Willoughby.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Scranton Baptist Church with burial in the Graham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2010, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, South Carolina, and at other times at the home: 1133 US 52 Highway, Scranton, South Carolina.
