EFFINGHAM: Mr. Billy G. Flowers, 56, died Thursday, January 14, 2010, at his residence after an illness.
Mr. Flowers was born August 12, 1953, in Florence, South Carolina, a son of Helena Faye Hyman Flowers Sandy and the late John Henry Flowers. He was a graduate of Southside High School and was the assistant manager with Advance Auto, Lake City and Hemingway stores before becoming disabled. Mr. Flowers was a member of Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Young Adult Sunday School Class teacher. He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-three years, Betty Jo Flowers of Effingham; daughter, Crystal Lynn Flowers of Effingham; mother, Helena H. Sandy of Effingham; sister, Janice E. Casey and her husband, Ronnie of Raleigh, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Carl E. Sandy.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, South Carolina, and at other times at the home: 5515 Hooks Road, Effingham, South Carolina
